SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR
We are looking for an energetic, organised, and professional School Administrator to join our dynamic team at our school on Rosemary Hill Farm.
This role is perfect for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual who has a passion for working with children and enjoys engaging with parents and staff alike. As the face of our office, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of daily tasks and school compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Professionally handle telephonic and face-to-face interactions with parents, children, staff, and visitors.
• Assist with all school secretarial duties, ensuring efficiency and organisation.
• Support teachers with administrative tasks, including document preparation.
• Demonstrate strong copywriting skills for school communications, newsletters, and notices.
• Maintain and manage school records with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
• Be first aid trained and able to assist in everyday situations.
• Foster a welcoming and nurturing environment for children, staff, and families.
Requirements:
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to multitask.
• A warm and friendly personality with a passion for working with children.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and administrative systems.
• Experience with D6 system will be an advantage.
• First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

HIGH SCHOOL COORDINATOR
Full-time permanent position to begin as soon as possible
The role of High School Coordinator is new. You will ideally bring strong administrative skills combined with leadership experience in an education environment to provide high level “servant-leader” support, input and assistance to the Michael Oak Waldorf High School community. You will bring enthusiasm and ideas to contribute to building a successful and excellent high school, working closely with the High School Faculty and the College of Teachers. Reporting to and working with the School Administrator, you will develop policies, procedures and systems which ensure consistency internally and enable accreditation by and registration with a number of formal bodies.
The successful applicant must meet the following criteria:
- At least 5 years’ experience in an education environment, preferably in a high school
- Experience working with a provincial education department, with a preference for proven networks built within the WCED
- Above average competence in developing and implementing policies, procedures and systems, guiding others in the consistent application of these.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Integrity, sensitivity and professional skills able to respond to difficult situations within a school environment
- Proven success in planning, organizing and implementing numerous activities – events, timetables, annual plans
- Evidence of successful and positive mentorship, support and guidance to others – providing information, ideas and skill, leadership as a colleague
- Registered with the South African Council of Educators (SACE).
Our preference would be to appoint a person who also has the following skills, attributes and experience:
- Relevant experience in teaching and leadership in a high school
- Willing to occasionally teach a high school subject
- Proven experience in developing the documents and evidence required for accreditation with Umalusi, or similar
- Experience in the management and administration of Matric exams (NSC)
- Advanced skills in MS Office or similar business applications
- Some experience in planning and administering events
- Previous experience in marketing of a school
- Experience in a Waldorf school, or willingness to learn about Waldorf education and to adapt to the Waldorf way of managing a school.

ISIXHOSA TEACHER FOR GRADES 1 – 9
Part-time position to begin 1 May 2025
Our preferred candidate will be passionate about teaching isiXhosa to children from age 6 to age 14. Initially this will be conversational, but the school hopes to move to offering isiXhosa at additional language level. They ideal candidate must meet the following criteria:
- Formal teaching qualification at Intermediate and/or Senior Phase, with isiXhosa as a specialty
- SACE registration
- Interest in and willingness to learn Waldorf pedagogy
- Willingness to work with children at different ages, adapting their teaching style to the Waldorf methodology and each year of the child’s development
- Caring and enthusiastic, with a love of and dedication to children and their development
- Self-motivated and able to work independently without formal supervision
- Able to work well with our dynamic community of staff, learners and parents.
- Willingness to actively contribute to the collective management of the school.
Preference will be given to candidates who have previous experience teaching at a Waldorf school; for whom isiXhosa is a home language and who have a high level of English proficiency.
